Cleveland, Ohio, November 27, 2022…In support of Veterans Month, CrossCountry Mortgage (CCM), one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing retail mortgage lenders, participated in a variety of initiatives to honor current and former Military Members.
“The American dream of homeownership wouldn’t be possible without the selfless service of our Military,” said Laura Soave, chief brand officer, CCM. “Support for the Military community is part of our always-on CCM Cares efforts, and we are honored to show support year-round to the brave individuals who protect our nation and our rights.” Among the company’s November CCM Cares Military efforts:
- Covering Veteran Housing Costs
As the official mortgage partner of the Cleveland Browns, CCM participated in the Browns’ Salute to Service game on November 27. CCM surprised Veteran Bobby Colleran from North Ridgeville, Ohio, with $25,000 toward his housing costs. Colleran was raised by his Veteran grandfather and served bravely in the Marine Corp., including a deployment in Afghanistan.
- CCM Military Members Serve as Flag Bearers
More than 60 CCM Veterans and Military family members carried the American flag on the field to kick off the Browns Salute to Service game. The company proudly employs nearly 300 Veterans and active-duty Service Members.
- Support of Veteran Athletes
CCM volunteers supported a wheelchair football clinic for Veterans with Adaptive Sports Ohio and the Browns. Adaptive Sports Ohio makes the power of sports a reality for physically impaired youth and adults. CCM volunteers assisted with event set up, tear down and drill support.
- Bear Stuffing for Military Children
CCM employees across the country showed their gratitude by stuffing 1,000 teddy bears for children of deployed service members through a partnership with Operation Gratitude. Employees also wrote personal letters to deployed service members.
- Special Recognition for Military Employees
CCM proudly recognized its employee Veterans and Military Members through a virtual service wall sharing their incredible stories, a gratitude wall displaying messages of appreciation from colleagues and a special CCM Military coin sent to all CCM Military Members.
CCM’s commitment to the Military extends year-round. In addition to offering VA loans as part of its lending portfolio, this year the company awarded Military Members with surprise gifts to cover housing costs, reunited Military families, donated sporting tickets and packed care kits for deployed troops. The company looks forward to continuing these commitments in the year ahead.
